With just one day left before the launch of the iPhone 4S, telecom operators, Airtel and Aircel have revealed their tariff plans for the long-awaited device. The telecom operators are presently taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S, while the official launch is scheduled for November 25th. The tariff plans for the iPhone 4S are said to be pretty similar to what the operators have been offering for the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS.
The pricing of the iPhone 4S has already drawn flak from all corners, as it has been kept extremely high in India as compared to other countries including the U.S. and U.K. Both Airtel and Aircel are expected to provide respite to the Indian consumers already bearing the brunt of price rise. Let's have a look at what both the telecom operators are offering with the new iPhone 4S:
AircelAircel has priced the 16GB variant of the iPhone 4S at Rs. 44,500, while the 32GB variant is available at Rs. 50,900. Aircel has not yet mentioned the price of the 64GB variant of the iPhone 4S. Previously, it was listed as “sold out” on the website. Aircel is offering two plans of Rs. 950 and Rs. 1,150 for the iPhone 4S enthusiasts. The telecom operator says the plans assure you recover the cost of your iPhone 4S over a period of 2 years with its fixed discount on the monthly rentals.
On the Rs. 950 plan, you get 3000 local and STD minutes, 350 local and STD SMSes and 650MB of 3G data, and 1GB Wi-Fi data. Over the period of two years, you save almost Rs. 22,320. Meanwhile, the Rs. 1150 plan (for 32GB iPhone 4S), you get 3500 local and STD minutes, 450 local and STD SMSes and 650 MB of 3G data and 1GB Wi-Fi data. Unlike Aircel, Airtel gives you a more customised options, as you can choose from plans of Rs. 600, Rs. 1,000, Rs. 1,600 and Rs. 2,000. With the tariff plan of Rs. 2,000, you get discount of Rs. 1,000. Moreover, you get 1500 local minutes, 600 SMSes local and national SMSes, and 3GB of 3G data. A Brief ComparisonAirtel's iPhone 4S tariff plans seem to be better than those offered by Aircel. Airtel lets you have a minimum rental at Rs. 300, while Aircel's minimum tariff plan is priced at Rs. 950.
