| Today Govt. on India has released it's much awaited tablet, Aakash, at highly subsidized price of Rs. 1400 for sstudents (Rs. 3000 for common mass). It's a 7 inch tablet, running on Android Froyo. Full specifications (with my intuition) is given below.
01) Screen Size : 7 Inches (18 Centimeters)
02) Wi-Fi : Yes
03)Media Player :Yes
04) Battery Power : 180 minutes
05) Operating System (OS) : Android 2.2
06) Video Conferencing : Yes
07) USB Ports : Two
08) Memory : 32 GB (expandable)
09) RAM : 256 Mb (on lower side)
10) CPU : 366 MHz
It's very ordinary configuration for a tablet but considering the price tag of Rs. 1400 ( even Rs. 3000), it's a steal deal.

| Some additions. - Display : 7 inch resistive touch screen
- Memory : 2 GB inbuilt & expandable to 32 GB via external slot.
- Connectivity : WiFi (no SIM slot so no 3G/EDGE)
In my opinion too, its a steal, considering the price point. But do not expect too much from the device. | |

| Also I forgot to mention, it may come with 3G in future if not now, as when it goes in commercial sale it'll be called Ubislate, and will come with Rs 99 per month data pack. Clearly, SIM provision will be there. Datawind, the maker of Aakash, has already in deal with Aircel. Maybe more operators will join in future.
This definitely adds value to ths tablet, which already is massively value for money device! | |

| And using Android OS on a resistive touch screen & slow processor is also going to be a pain. But we cannot expect much from a cheap device like this one. | |
