| Everyone wants their work to be private. Privacy has become the major aspect for every person. Whenever you want to keep your files secret usually we used to make it a rar or zip archive and encrypt it with password. But this would be annoying. In this post i am going to post how to hide your disk parttions. There are many ways to do this and here iam going to post 2 methods of doing this.
Using Computer Management
- Right click My Computer.
- Click Manage or press letter G.
- This will open Computer Management.
- Under Storage, select Disk Management.
- Right click on the drive which you wish to hide.
- Select Change drive letters and paths...
- Click Remove
- Now can find your partition will be hidden.
- To get back the partition Computer Management-->Select drive--> Change drive letters and paths
- Now select Add option.
- In that Assign the following drive letter.
- Select ok.
Using Command Prompt
- Open Command Promt
a) Start ==> Run ==> type CMD. b) Start ==> All programs ==> Accessories ==> Command Prompt.
- Type DISKPART and hit ENTER.
- Now type LIST VOLUME and press ENTER. It shows all your Hard disk partitions.
- Now select the volume which you want to hide. To select type the command select volume volume number.
- Quote :
- replace the volume number in the command with the number of the partition which you want to hide.
Ex:- select volume 4
- Now to hide the partition type the command, remove letter volume label.
- Quote :
- replace the volume label in the above command with the label of partition in your Computer.
Ex:- remove letter e - Quote :
- This removes the Volume(Partition) from your My Computer.
- Now to unhide the partition, type the following Command, assign letter volume label
- Quote :
- replace volume label in the command with the letter which you like to assign for the partition.
Ex:- assign letter e
